Learning Tracker register is used only for data collection by Professional Growth & Learning (PGL) research group. Participants are voluntarily taking part in the study and they are asked to sign a study permit. Participants may cancel their participation whenever they wish to do so by informing the contact person (Petri Nokelainen).
Vincit Oy is responsible for developing the register, but they don’t have an access to the data.

Learning Tracker register is used only for data collection by Professional Growth & Learning (PGL) research group.
A longitudinal project. Learning Tracker register is used in various studies by PGL research group.
Consent: At the beginning of the research period, participants will participate into an individual instruction session with a researcher. They will be given a presentation of the study, its goals and terms of voluntary participation. During that session, participant will sign an informed consent and download the LearningTracker smart device application.
Legal obligation of the Data Controller: During the research period, experience sampling (self-reports via LearningTracker smart device application) data will be collected from the participants. Experience sampling data contains “code” (each study is given an individual identifier code that is the same for all participants), “id” (identifier code) and values from a context dependent self-rating survey (e.g., “Academic emotions”) variables. No participants’ personal information is used in the analyses.
Interest of the Data Controller: After the research period, participants’ personal information (age, gender, main study area) is used in the group level for demographic description of the data (no individual participant can be recognized). Participants’ contact details (name, email) are used for communication relating to individual interviews after the data collection period. The data is used only for research purposes.
No sensitive data will be processed during the research project.
No external parties.
The research material is used only for research purposes. The information contained in the register will not be disclosed or transferred outside the EU or the European Economic Area.
The data are only available to Professional Growth & Learning researchers at the Tampere University by the use of their personal user ID.
Signed research permits will be stored at the premises of the Tampere University in a locked cabinet accessible only to members of the research team.
Signed research permits will be stored five years, after that the material will be destroyed in accordance with the data protection material destruction guidelines of the Tampere University. Electronic material is stored for 10 years, after which material is removed from all servers.
Each person attached to the register has a right of access to their personal information. The request for verification of the information should be provided to the registry contact person. Each person associated with the register also has the right to request the correction of incorrect information or the removal of their data. A repair request or a request for removal of data should also be sent to the registry contact person.
